Byline

Terms of use

By creating an account or using Byline, you agree to these terms.

The service

Byline helps journalists draft, edit, translate and publish stories with AI models. Drafts are suggestions: you are responsible for checking facts and for what you publish.

Your account

Keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account. Newsroom owners are responsible for the people they invite.

Acceptable use

Do not use Byline to create content that is unlawful, defamatory, deceptive, that harasses people or that you do not have the right to publish, and do not try to get around plan limits or attack the service.

Your content

You own your notes and drafts. You give us permission to process them only to provide the service. We do not use them to train AI models.

Plans and payment

Paid plans are paid in advance for one month or one year and are not renewed automatically: we remind you before your plan ends. Prices are shown before you pay. The free plan and trials may change. Refunds: contact support within 7 days of a payment if the service did not work for you.

Availability

We work to keep Byline available but cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted. AI providers may change their models.

Liability

Byline is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses or for content you publish.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
