Getting started with Byline: your first story in five minutes
Create your account, write your first story and learn the basics of the workspace.
1. Choose a template
Open the workspace and pick the kind of story you are writing: breaking news, feature, court report, match report and more.
2. Add your notes
Fill in the fields. Rough notes are fine. Add only facts you have checked.
3. Write
Press Write: the draft appears as it is written, and any fact you still need to check is marked.
4. Edit and save
Edit the draft in place, save it, then translate it, turn it into a radio script or social posts, or send it to your editor.
5. Take it with you
Install the app to record and transcribe interviews, or link WhatsApp to send notes from the field.
